So Hurricane Maria originated from a tropical wave off the coast of West Africa on September 12, 2017. And then eventually it moved west and it became a category 5 hurricane where winds got up to 175 miles an hour, 280 kilometers an hour before it made landfall on the island of Dominica on September 19th. And I remember watching this buzzsaw of an eye go across the island. And the impacts were immense. But anyway, I'll get to Dominica in a second. After going through Dominica it lost a bit of its intensity and it dropped down to a category 4. And on September 20th the Ida storm made landfall again in Puerto Rico near Yabuca. And it had maximum winds of 155 miles an hour, that's 250 kilometers an hour. And eventually the storm moved northwest across Puerto Rico and it went back into the Atlantic. And eventually it turned eastward, it went north and became an extra tropical cyclone that created a lot of issues for parts of Ireland and the United Kingdom. Recycle it.
