Yeah, Mike Zero, Delta Delta Kilo, returning. The name's Bob. The QTH is Raylian Essex, which is near the coast of 30 miles from London. Yeah, in time and space. I started building radio sets and copies of Bully's Own magazine my uncle gave me back in 1962. And I joined the RSGB in the 60s as a shortwave listener in SWL. I used to build things, electronic contraptions, if you may know how to have a go at it. But then in the early 80s I found that there was an amateur radio course at night, colleagues. So I went on the course, got my IAE and I was G6WWZ, which is a B licence restricted to VHF and UHF in the UK. And whilst I was G6WWZ I got a day that Columbia, the space shuffle, went over Europe with Owen Garriott, W5F, I think it was. I was trying to communicate, I had an angled quad set up to squirt my RF at the space shuttle. I didn't actually manage to have any kind of QSO, it was just a racket that day. And then later on from the ARRL I received a QSL card with the picture of Owen and they printed these things. So I'd actually got through to the space shuttle, which was quite good. Later on I took the Morse test years later and got my full A licence with HF. By that time I'd got electronic inventions and all sorts of things, so nothing to do with radio. So there we are. So time, yeah, and I rejoined the RSGB in the 80s I think, so really I broke my membership, otherwise I'd probably have a gold badge or something. Anyway, I'll hand it back to you. I worked with Transcannadon there probably once or twice a year, I think he wrote about six months ago. Nice to copy you, lovely now, thank you. And I'm just returning to you. This is repeater station kilo kilo seven, November Quebec November, All Star node 6222, located at the... The UI1 MGS returning, thank you Bob, nice to make your acquaintance, yeah good copy here. Silky. Thanks for sharing, good information there. You've been very active. Lots of interesting with Columbia as well, you've got a QSL card out of our ARL. That's amazing, yeah very cool, very cool. Thank you so much for your check in Bob, and thanks for sharing with us some of what you do with the hobby. We'll catch you down the log, we'll break with M0 and DDK, and we'll go see Victor Alpha 3 TDE. What do you have for the net today? Tell us a story about how far you've gone for amateur radio.
