Packet, that's dinosaur tech. I've heard anybody playing with that in ages. I don't know if anybody's doing that still here locally or not. I know it used to be a station on the air that you could send a receive packet that was connected to the internet. So you could send it around the world through the repeater or something. I don't know if they still do that here locally or not. Winlink is another one. You need HF for that one though. Same type of thing, packet radio and HF and RTTY and stuff like that. Lots of cool stuff you can do when it comes to packets. They call them digital modes because it's using a computer, but it's just digital data being transmitted over an analog signal. It's not really digital. Digital is like DMR and DSTAR and Fusion and stuff like that.
