K-5UWH returning and we had probably 12 to 15 minutes of travel to get home, possibly a little bit longer given traffic and that kind of stuff. But I'm not on a freeway, I'm on the Interpachi Junction on what we call the trail and heading east to our home and then literally within 90 seconds, maybe 100 seconds, this big wall of dust was coming at us. I say dust but it's actually probably more dirt than anything. When I say a wall, I'm saying many thousands of feet high in the air and as far as we can see from the left of the windshield to the right side and around, it was fast approaching. As we kept going on, Jeannie actually got scared. She said this is a Haboo-g and that's spelled H-A-B-O-O-B. At first I thought she was saying Haboo, H-A-B-U. I've never heard the word before and the emergency notification from the county emergency office also said dust storm and Haboo. And Jeannie said I've been in several but this looks like really really bad stuff. So we kept motoring and then Jeannie, her voice got elevated and she became scared. She was literally scared. She said I've never seen anything this bad. She didn't want to keep going. I said well I can pull over but I've been through hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, typhoons, even the tsunami and that kind of stuff. I said I'm not going to do anything stupid. I'll keep going. As it approached probably no more than maybe a mile from us, we could see areas that were totally black from the ground all the way up as far as we could see. We could no longer see any sky. Could it break again? This is repeater station C-L-O-B-O-O-N-D November, November, November. And then multiple areas that were just totally black. When they talk about zero visibility they don't mean you can see maybe half a mile or whatever. I could see what was coming that they meant if you're in your car and you're in the middle of this you can see the inside of your car but beyond the windshield it's going to be black. You won't be able to see anything. They also advised if we did pull over to turn the motor off, keep the windows up, turn the lights off, the feet off, the brakes. They didn't want people to see the lights of a car if they could see anything thinking that it's a safe place to go. My logic is that makes sense. I've never heard it before. But you could also turn on the emergency lights which says stay away. But anyway we didn't need to get to do that. At least three, maybe four times Jeannie was expressing extreme scare on her part. And she said I just hope we can get home safely. We did. There was a little bit of sprinkles but not much. Just enough with the dirt in here to dirty my car. I'm going to break again.
