All right, for the dwarf planets, we have Ceres rising about 955 PM by month's end. Ceres can be spotted low to the south after midnight. Ceres is in the constellation of Cetus shining at magnitude 8.4. We got Pluto rising about 553 PM by month's end. The best time to spot Pluto is around midnight when it is highest in the sky to the south. Pluto is in the constellation of Capricornus shining at magnitude 15.1. Actually now is a good time to spot Pluto because the moon will not interfere. However, clouds will and the smoke out here in the west as well will definitely interfere with viewing Pluto but the moon will not. You will definitely need to get away from sea lights and get under dark skies and need at least a 12 to 15 inch telescope to spot it. As always, good luck in spotting Neptune, Ceres and Pluto. Our telescope and dark skies will be needed. Now, a 5 inch telescope will put out Neptune pretty well. Ceres may be an 8 inch telescope. Pluto is definitely around the 12 to 15 inch or better in size and lots of patience. Okay, we are at the tail end of a couple of meteor showers. The northern delta Aquarius meteor shower extends from July 16th through September 10th. Maximum occurred back on the 13th. So you may be able to catch a few of those over the next couple of weeks. There will be very few. The Perseus meteor shower, you may be some of those lingering but that was from July 23rd through August 22nd. That peaks back on the 12th. Yep, you may be able to see some of those stragglers but it is pretty much over for that. We do have a comet, comet C2024E1, which is passing through the constellation of Hercules this month shining around 12 magnitude. So a 10 inch scope or better will be needed to spot that one end under dark skies. Again, more patience for sure. Okay, that is it for the local astronomical news. This is KI0A control for the Colorado Astronomy. Got a few check ins to acknowledge. Yep, WB4AIZ we checked in. You are number 12 on the list. We got you.
