Hello, glad to be on here. Yes, I am back and things are moving pretty smoothly. One of the goals I've had for the last several months is getting a real antenna on my little Kia Niro EV that I got a few months ago. I've been getting by with just a little teeny stick-on antenna, a little Nagoya, with a teeny, teeny mag mount that wouldn't really stay on very well, so I had to tape it to the roof. Anyway, what I've got now is a little lip mount thing. I've got it mounted on the back of my engine hood. I've got a Tram dual band antenna on there. I'm running a temporary radio in the car, and a little power because I'm plugged into the cigarette lighter. It looks like I'm coming in pretty good looking at the motor scope. So I guess this setup is going to work out for me, and that's what my project has been today, is to get this antenna finally hooked up. So I'm trying it out, I'll stick an SWR meter on it and so forth. Later I plan to compare it to a mag mount in the middle of the roof, which is where the antenna should be, in the middle of the roof. But I decided I would try not drilling any holes into this car, not so much because I mind drilling holes, but because routing the cables in sight is a total pain in the rear. So this way I don't have to tear out the headliner or any of that stuff. Anyway, more as the situation develops, back to you, KI7-ZEI.
