Back then in the 20s, super hetrodine receivers had not been invented, so that's why you had multiple tuning up on the older radio. Once a man named Armstrong grew, I think he was a lieutenant colonel in the communications corps of US Army during World War I. He invented super hetrodine and you have your single tuning up. So that's my story. Does anybody else have anything to add to that?
