off of the pipes in the house. I could get to and attach the one end and have the other end up in a tree and I had great fun listening to all sorts of short wave stations from all over the world. About 60 years or so ago maybe, maybe more than that. But I got interested in ham radio. I met a ham before I left Britain. I thought I didn't take the course but halfway through it I decided to emigrate to Canada. So I had to redo the whole thing. So that's my experience. But to begin with it was just an enthusiasm for listening. Mike
