Good morning Brian. Well you see spikes in the pole would not work because it would just give them more to climb onto. And if you electrify the pole, which is not a bad idea, but it would also electrify the bird feeder because everything is metal. So I'd be killing off all the birds. And that would be the purpose of why I put it out there in the first place. However, it probably would make a good show on YouTube. I could, I could, uh, one, uh, 101 ways birds and squirrels can die.
