And there was a prehistoric skull. It was discovered about a half century ago. It was an Italian cave. And it seems so far it's the oldest example of artificial cranial modification. At least the oldest ever discovered in Europe. And the long skull is about 12,000 years old. It confirms that practice leads back to about the Stone Age.
