When I lied to him and told him he'd be back that afternoon because he knew he wouldn't come back. He had some things on the stove and some things on the toaster oven like he was in the middle of doing kitchen stuff. And if I didn't clean it up the next day, there would have been things spoiling and rotten in the kitchen just because he thought he was going to come back to it.
