is getting a hotspot. A hotspot is a very low powered device. Think of it as a gateway between the radio and the internet, like your home Wi-Fi. And you'll still need at least one radio that does one of the digital modes to transmit and receive with a hotspot. So you'll still need a YASU radio or a DMR radio or a D-Star radio. But some of the hotspots let you transmit, which means convert between the different modes. So you could go in as DMR, but have it come out on the internet on D-Star or on YSF. So some of the hotspots do that. They let you transcode between the different modes. So ideally that lets you not need a whole bunch of radios. You just need one radio to talk to your hotspot. But yep, that's another way to do it.
