you should get one. And the problem with keeping them on Wi-Fi, especially if you've got a bigger house, is the secret is you don't connect them to your 5 gig Wi-Fi. You connect them to your 2 gig Wi-Fi because your 2 gig Wi-Fi is more stable and it spreads out a further distance because of course as we know as hams the frequency is lower so it'll send better through walls and over distance. So if you were connecting them to your 5 gig that might very well be the problem because I had the same problem. The good thing about the Roomba S9, one, it's got sensors around the bottom edge of it so it just doesn't fly down the stairs or go off a drop which is really good. And it's got that crazy suction. It doesn't have obstacle avoidance however so you do still need to pick up your cords off the floor, make sure there's no way for the vacuum to get to it because mine will destroy cables, it has destroyed cables. But that's the only thing that it doesn't have that all the brand new models have now is the obstacle avoidance. You know if you've got a sock on the floor, mine is going to suck that sock up and you're going to have to take the blades out of the bottom of it. Now granted it's easy, there's a button that ejects the two rollers out of it so it's not like you have to break out a screwdriver or nothing. You just hit the button and the rollers come out and you pull the sock and pop in the rollers and you're good to go again. But the key is don't have socks on the floor or don't have a stray USB cable just dangling out where it can be sucked up because those are a pain in the ass and if you hit one the vacuum stops. It just says the main rollers are tangled, Roomba needs your attention. Or mine says Johnny 5 needs your attention because that's what I call it with Johnny 5 right? It's actually Johnny 5 the 3rd because over the years I've had these Roombas and I've called them all Johnny 5. But this one, man this one has lasted for several years. The battery you still get a solid 90 minute run time out of it even after all these years and that's 90 minutes on max power. It would run for probably maybe an hour and 20 or an hour and 40 minutes if you use medium or low power. But I don't see any reason to use medium or low power. I mean you want to pick up as much dirt as possible run it on max and it will do that. But yeah mine will suck up cables that's the only thing. The newer ones have got a front mounted camera that can see the obstacles. Mine only has a camera that points upward and that's used for mapping. So it does the smart home mapping stuff and you can identify your rooms and keep out zones and all this kind of stuff.
