MM0RKN returning. Yeah 33, Joan. Good to hear you. It's evening where you are so good evening to you and good evening to everybody in Seattle there. And yeah it's very early here in Scotland. It's currently 5.43am and oh I struggle this morning, Joan. I've been on holiday from work for about a week and a half I think it is. It was the first early rise. It's quite a few days and yeah a little bit of a struggle. And yeah not long I get back into the swing of things I'm sure. But yeah that is the school holidays have now ended in Scotland at last. My son Scott went back to school on Thursday and I just took an extra couple of days just to get myself all organised again, get the house back and all that. And also to enjoy the lovely weather that we've been having here. We've attempted to hear us kind of 25 degrees Celsius and it was lovely over the weekend. Really enjoyed it. But like everyone else that's coming to an end as well. The temperature's fallen a little bit today. I think the high is going to be about 18 degrees Celsius. It's currently 14 degrees and cloudy I think but I think it's due to be dry today so that is the main thing. And the other thing I've been doing from a radio point of view is I got a new radio. I got the Ysu FT-1X Optima version and I have been having a blast with that radio. I've been playing QRP with it. It's quite difficult just now doing QRP because the banking distance aren't a best. And yeah a bit old there though. It's quite surprising. Early evening I've been managing to make contacts into Europe. Nothing very exotic on my 6 watts of power. But I will keep dabbling with that and keep persevering. But fantastic radio. So far I'm delighted with it. I also managed to get it working on FT-8 6 watts as well. So that was really interesting seeing how well my signal could carry and the stations were coming in and where I was getting spotted. And I was actually getting spotted stateside on my 6 watts so that was fantastic as well there. But this new radio, that is going to be my portable go box type radio for when I travel. I've been seeing this for a long time but I am going to become a POTA operator. So this should spur me on to do some POTA activations. And yeah I also really need to get my head down and get into this CW as well. I have been seeing for years, pro-crafting, I should really get on with it. Now I need to, I've no excuse, I've got the radio. I need to just get on with it. Anyway John that's the update from here in Scotland and I'll hand it back to you. This is MM0 RTN back to K2 I think it is CW.
