Well, good evening, John and the rest of the net. This is KA983. I'm still processing because I spent five days at the World Science Fiction Convention selling books and experimenting with using improvisational theater instead of reading for my author events. They all seem to want to hear authors read off a printed page, and of course I can't do that. And my hands are so messed up that even had I ever learned braille, I probably wouldn't still be able to read it. So I am doing improvisational theater instead, and I had a partner this time which was a complete blast. And then I did a few panels that were really interesting. There was one panel on colonization space, and one of its members had put together an entire slide show. And I kind of felt sorry for her because she's clearly put a lot of work and a lot of thought into this about O'Neill colonies and big huge habitats in space, and how they might be made to be sustainable. Now given the results of the biosphere which was a fairly large thing in which people were sealed in and they were going to live there for two years, and it actually lasted for three months, the problem you have is that you have to have an ecosystem with a certain number of distinct species with slightly overlapping roles and niches in order to actually have resilience and redundancy. And I think we've got a lot to learn about that. But anyway, that was an interesting panel. And then there was a panel on human evolution that was fun, and I got to participate in that. And there's a lady who thinks she wants to help me with my book The Diatribe which I wrote 60,000 words of one summer, and then gave up on it because I don't have a nutritionist credential. And thus, trying to write a book that purports to give people advice outside my own profession is not something that makes me legally happy. So if she wants to collaborate, I'm happy to let her help me collaborate. So anyway, that's fun. So I'm back. My feet are blistered. I'm really tired from having had to walk all over down there, but it was great. Anyway, that's about all for my report. This is 733388. I love you all. This is KA90HV. Back to next.
