Well, the rogue waves, some of you may have seen movies where these rogue waves are slammed into ocean liners, cruise ships, that's a side adventure for instance, I guess that's a good one there too as an example. And these giant waves, they suddenly appear in the open ocean, sometimes it's almost like they blow out of nowhere very quickly. They've probably been scientists for decades and they're brief, for the most part they're brief, maybe a minute or less, very unusual to see more than a minute long, and they can exceed heights over 65 feet 20 meters and they're very often twice the height of the surrounding waves. And so data collected between 2003 and 2020 of approximately 27,000 half hour wave records and they're referred to as sea states in the central North Sea, taken every 30 minutes, showed how elevated sea surfaces compared to average levels, and this included major storm activity. So most waves, most waves are created from wind blowing across water surfaces, so given enough time and space those waves can become pretty large depending on the wind and how much space you have to create these waves.
