And the heat itself disrupts, alters some of the hormones in trees. Oxen is one of them. Oxen helps the trees shed their leaves, grow limbs, etc., etc. And that's sensitive to heat. So when the heat goes up, the oxen levels are pulsing and the trees start acting a little wonky. So this one here, this is a study that I've been doing about animals and heat waves. Aside from the fact that a huge number of animals actually die each year from heat waves. But there's also a lot of other animals that actually survive and they end up suffering long-term consequences of stopping.
