brain, these synaptic connections behave differently. A young brain, a single input, could result in a neuron's firing. Immature networks, neurons require multiple inputs to fire. When neurons activate too easily, such as a young brain, different experiences can cause overlapping activity patterns. If this overlap is too great, the brain struggles to distinguish one memory from another. And this means memories would not be very precise. Once the brain matures, neurons become more selective and need multiple inputs to fire. And this results in more specific and stable memories. Therefore, our early memories might be too poorly defined to be ever-tain for longer term. And the driving force of this new pre-birth work.
