Yeah, that was 110,000 years to see if that DNA could be extracted successfully. And it turns out that small amounts could be identified even from remains from the late Pleistocene. And that's probably was May 27th, the journal of Quadrinary Science Reviews. So it wasn't that long ago. And the oldest DNA extracted from various animals came from a partial molar originating from an African apple called a mountain. Reed buck found in a boom pot cave in South Africa. A older DNA came from 360 long corn buffalos to that died 20,000 years ago and went 12,000 years ago. So it shows now that DNA under the right conditions can survive multiple thousands of years.
