So I'm in your camp. I much prefer the macaroon, the coconut chewy cookie. Oh man, I used to love those as a kid. And now I'm really wanting some. I'm not even that much of a into sweets, but they are so delicious. Macaron's, the fancy French item, you basically make a meringue and then you have to let it kind of harden or at least get a little bit of a, it can't look wet anymore. So you have to set them on the counter on the baking sheet for some period of time. Then you bake them in the oven and then if you overwork the meringue, it doesn't work. If you underwork the meringue, it doesn't work. If you pipe it wrong, it doesn't work. So I don't know. I'm nervous. We'll see how it goes.
