Someone was talking on the technet the other night about loading up the flagpole at Fort Flagler as a vertical. He said, well it's grounded. How can you load that up? Of course, then Frank and he said, OK, mine's said, well I just have a gamma match. But then again, the old way of doing it was just trial and error, but is there a way to actually measure it and calculate the distance and do some reasonable calculations and measurements rather than spend all day and a ladder going up and down trying to find the low SWR. Can you actually measure that 50-ohm point? That's the tricky part I think. I'm going to have to go back and double check that, but I believe that flagpole is wood. Well, you know, it could be. You could drop a wire down, but yeah, you know, if it's wood.
