I think a lot of that was just kind of theoretical, but unless you have a way of measuring the input impedance of the antenna, the Smith Chart doesn't really do you much good I don't think, but now with the rig experts and the nano-VNA's you can really get in there and really make a reasonable measurement there of the input impedance.
