on Saturday evening, I couldn't make any more contacts. There was a contest going on, and I'd worked everyone that I could, and I tuned down to 40 meters just to listen, and it was just popping. And I wanted to work 40 meters so bad, so I went digging through all my gear, and I had no wire. I was like, how do I have all this gear, and not like a school of wire, that I could try to like, home brew a 40 meter antenna out of? And then I found I had a school of solder. I thought, could I make a antenna out of solder? And the short story is that I tried and completely failed. Like I got a, I don't know, 2.2 to 1 SWR in like five megahertz, and I was trying to make it work on 40 meters. And I was rushing, but it was dark. The mosquitoes were biting the hell out of me, and I just, I finally, I gave up a quick break. But this evening, I was like, I wanted to know if it was possible.
