I took one of those BNC to, you know, banana plug or whatever you call those terminals, connector adapters, and I very, very carefully made a inverted V dipole. I got the center about five feet off the ground, and then the ends running down with some zip ties on the end that I tied to some tent stakes. And I set up my portable table outside with my IC7000, and I set it for 10 watts. And I got a 599 signal report from N6 Zulu Zulu Oscar who was activating a PODA down in California on 40 meter CW, and I gave him a 539 because he was quite weak coming in, but I was receiving signals and heard me just fine. So I made a contact with my solder antenna, I feel kind of ridiculous, but I also kind of exultant, but I actually pulled it.
