It speaks, it doesn't have a screen, so there's no need to worry about reading a screen. As a channel knob on the top you just turn it, and that's how you switch between your various talk screens. You just turn it and announces which channel you're now on and you're off to the races. If you want to change networks, you just hold a button on the side, turn that same knob, and it'll switch networks. So, apparently it's very easy to use for blind and poorly sighted individuals. So, I'm looking forward to trying that one, and as well, that base unit is going to make a real nice addition to my desk. It definitely is. It's a base slash mobile. It does not do RF, just POC only. But that means I don't have to hook up an external antenna to it, so it can just sit on my desk and look nice. And I can use it for all my POC stuff without needing to.
