November 3, Tango Victor November, Keto Indian 7, I'll take you to form Bravo. Yes, we're good, Long Hand 3, MTV Dave and Melbourne, South Dakota. Dave, my name is Lee and I'm in Hanover, Germany at this time. I just wanted to make sure that you got that last transmission about being dyslexic and everything. Yes, right on. My problem is I've never been one good at studying a technician's license. I forget how many times I took the test. I've done a general test five or six times. I keep messing by, well, I get one or two. You have to get around to getting seven wrong or I'll be getting eight or nine wrong every time. So I just got to concentrate on the areas I'm weak on. But at least now I can do it online because my nearest testing site is four and a half to five hours away from me. There is a system called the HAM test online or HAM license online. Check that out. You can register with them. What I've been doing is I've just been doing practice tests. I do two or three practice tests a night. I'm working on my extra for that. I do two or three practice tests a night. I'm getting about 75 to 80 percent, which is passing. You might want to check that out. There's also for the extra, there's a book that's called All Ham No Spam. I don't know what the author's name is, but he gives that into Google. You should be able to find that book. Well, being dyslexic, reading is not the best idea. A book is not the best idea. But if you have it in your hand, it's easier to understand what you're reading than if you're looking at it on a screen, at least for me. So there's a couple of tips for your extra license. I'm using that HAM radio prep online. I've been doing that. When I'm at work, I've got quite a good downtime. I've got to get permission to do it. I'll be doing that a little bit later. I'll probably watch a movie or check the letter channel. I'm in a small town here, so if I come off, I'm one of the few people down there that works graveyard shifts. I know our town here is my hobby. I've been sitting here and I want to play radio for a little bit, then watch a movie. I'll keep myself busy until 4.30 or 5 in the morning and then I'll go to bed. I normally get off at 8.30 in the morning, so I'm in bed by 5.30. I get my usual sleep. I'm looking for the email general. It's Mike Schu and Albert. I have relatives there. They're both silent keys now. One was in Nova Scotia, the other one was in Montreal. They're the ones that gave me these initial radio bugs. Back in 1969, my dad got us a stereo reed kit. We built that and I thought it was so cool. We take all his cards and get music. We bought a stereo reed kit, so we put together our stuff. If it wants to re-raise you, CB, scanners and 92, I got my tech license and I haven't shut up since. I'm back to you. My children call sign Delta Oscar 7, outside uniform bravo, just in case you wanted to write that down. I got my license in 2016. I've been hooked on radio communications since I was about 8 years old. I went over to a buddy's house one day and his father had eight radios in a rack, basically just built into a wall. They were old Collins, dual-driven, crystal-driven radios. He was a relay for the United States Army. This was back in 1972, so I think he was a relay for the Korean times. That's when things started to taste a little bit of resistance, the capacitance, resistance, inductance and all the rest just got under my skin. Finally got it done in 2016 and got my general in 2017. This is repeater station Kilo Kilo 7 November... Yeah, I know why I joined that. It's a... Yeah, I figured when I swim to the place, like General, if I just keep starting and... Yep. Yep. I'll probably do my testing right here. But, yeah, it's not the front of my suggests. They want to go for my general, probably just automatically go for my extra, see what happens. But, I got a ticket at back in 92 and... My license is originally from Baltimore and once I got my license, a friend of mine got me into the amateur TV part and I was hooked. I still have my equipment, but where I'm at now, there's no one around me to do it. So, I got an action call with an extra TV and I, oh God, I loved it. So, I was working midnight back then and my night off I was doing TV all night. Had a satellite just in my backyard and I was re-transmitting everything from the space station. And I was, and most of the guys loved it. I was up two, three, four in the morning doing that stuff, so I had a lot of fun. I still think it's the coolest hobby in the world and I'll stick to it. Here's 3NTV Dave in Lowbridge. N3NTV, Q1-7, I'm taking you from Bravo-V in Germany. Yeah, if you get into DMR, you might want to check out my top group, which is 1301389. I'll say it again so you can write it down. I don't know if you are writing it, but 1301389. If you need help with some of the DMR stuff, if you want to get into it, send me an email. I'm good on Q1-Z and I'll see what I can do to get you some information to help you get into DMR. I'm actually out walking the dog this morning and I'm using my phone through Echo Link to get into this system. I keep getting nudged by the dog because she's hungry and she eats out of her hand as we walk. Whether or not it's going to be 30 degrees here today, 30 degrees Celsius, which is going to be like about 80 degrees Fahrenheit. I've got some roof work to do, so I'm going to get this dog walk done, get myself a cup of coffee and get up on the roof.
