KG6, C-Y-A here. I've mounted several same bands, same everything, VHF, commercial radios on rooftops of vehicles, and we I'm about 24 inches. Things seem to work out pretty well. Now there's some good advice there, and yeah, many of the many vehicles, public service vehicles, especially have many antennas and similar band. That's great feedback. Do you notice any descents? The main thing is, I think you don't want to do any front end damage, but descents? Generally no, and as long as we don't, we're not on the same channel, but we're within a couple of megahertz sometimes, and there's no decent no issues whatsoever. Does anybody use bandpass filters on commercial installs like that?
