I was going to UK's AGI, I heard the tragic news about the next door neighbor here. There's been a lot going on down there. Tragic, absolutely tragic the way that all unfolded. Yeah, I knew about that raid, it was down there a few weeks ago and stuff like that. And of course that young fellow that went to school, my young fellow, he's the same age. As a matter of fact, my uncle was born on the 11th of May of 1995. And, well he's dead, I don't know if you know Jerry, B.O.1.T.S.G., that was his dad. And he lived down there and when I first got licensed, Jerry and I would be back and forth all the time. And that, great fellow. And I remember him saying, Mark was pregnant on Douglas at the time, he said, and I said, the man is going to have a baby sometime in June, I think, whatever. He was born, as a matter of fact, he was born on the 25th of June 1995. And that was the day Douglas was baptized. So there you go, and he went to school with Douglas for a while too. So Doug knew him. It was unfortunate what happened there. You know, I said, I knew the young fellow when he was first born, I'd seen him when he was a baby. And it's hard to believe, but that's it. Anyway, I must get in and out of it now and we can give it a shot, all right? So we'll say 73 there and pick it up later. Terry is one of the reasons I got involved with radio. Terry Sr. One of the reasons I got involved with radio in the first place. I was fascinated by it back when I used to play around with C.B.s when I lived across the street from you with my grandparents. I was fascinated in radios. And he's the one who introduced, between him and M.U.G. Danny Ward II got me interested in VHF. And it was when I heard the Echo Link repeater back in the day that I got really interested, learning that we could talk all around the world on a repeater, crystal clear pretty much. And I've run into Terry Sr. numerous times over the years. We've stayed in touch online and stuff. He was living up in Labrador for the longest time. He's remarried and whatnot. And I ran into him again at Young Terry's Wake there last week when the big priority was that he lay in stare form as a send-off. Yeah, absolutely tragic. I've known him since he was a kid as well. And you know, people sometimes go down the wrong path, man. The night of the fire, I tell you, I was absolutely shit baked. There's no other way to put it. I was asleep on my couch and I heard an explosion outside the window. And I looked out my window. My window is in the front behind where the quad was parked. And I looked over and all I see was a 20-foot wall of flame. I couldn't tell what was burning. So I called 911 and that's when the emergency response got up here. And as they were trying to put out the fire, the gas tank blew on it. And I was standing outside the door watching them put the fire out. When the gas tank blew and the firefighters literally had the back up off it, it got that bad. But I guess now hopefully all that crime will stay where it belongs, outside the gates of this neighborhood as a result. So, 73, man, you have yourself a good night and all the best. You know, this is a good neighborhood up here, you know. And this hat we're dropping now, God rest on this, you see. Shea Heights is probably the biggest outport without a stage. But, you know, it's actually true. There's a good community up here. And most of the people up here are pretty good. I remember when I started out with Mark, this was back in 1986, people said, oh my God, you're up on the hill, dealing with the group up there. I said, listen here, there's nothing wrong with any of the people up on Shea Heights, any of the people I have met have been the most wonderful, good people, hardworking people, you know, and that like myself. And like minded, you know what I said. And, you know, it's like everywhere, you know, a few bad apples, you know, spoil the bunch. But I can say anybody I've met up here is out, but they can be friendly and no more gentleman or lady, you know, like that. It's excellent. So, there you go. Anyways, 73 V01XH, clear.
