Well, I guess Elaine was the one who got to put the bow on this. Well, I thank all of you. So I thank all of you for joining us tonight for the Saturday, August 9, 9 o'clock net. I'd also like to thank the Puget Sound Repeater Group for the use of this repeater. For more information about the group, please check out our website at psrg.org. PSRG has been hosting daily nets for over 30 years. The nets are a great opportunity for you to test your equipment. Remember, if you don't test your equipment, we can't hear you. I'll now be returning the repeater to normal operation. This is Dean KG7ODB signing off at 1023 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time. Good evening. KG7ODB, Dean, are you still there? Oh, of course I'm still here. In fact, I have to still be here because to me there's nothing worse. I know sometimes people have long nets and they want to get to sleep and they have somewhere to go, but some net controllers just turn off the radio immediately after they're done. But I had to stick around for a few minutes anyway in case people, maybe there's a straggler or people have questions. Hey, we didn't get a squirrel report from you tonight. Over to you. Oh my God, how did I forget the squirrels? Well, they were out on the patio and we're very happy we're doing quality checks by eating the nuts I gave them and they approved. They're just running every which way and chasing each other and generally have a good squirrel day so that they're all doing well. I got a question about you and being in net control. This is, I guess it almost sounds like this is the first time you've been in net control, but I don't think that doesn't sound right. Okay, so officially this is probably the first time, but back about 10 years ago, there was, I think it was on a Sunday night, and there was a guy, Tyler, he was AF7BO. He was the net controller. I think it was him who missed his net. And so they needed someone, so it was like, who's going to run the net? So I faked it. And I think there were probably, I got about 10 check-ins. And I think the reason I've never done another, I've never really gotten into it, I've been asked. But for a long time I was very busy with work and I was also helping a guy named Daniel, KL7WM, do ham radio classes. And I also had the ACS people asking me if I wanted to join them. So it was one of those things where I could only do so much and I knew that if I jumped in or if I did it, it could be one of those rabbit holes. But officially, this is probably the first time that I've done it. So it's probably easier than doing Parks on the Air phone activation. That takes some guts. But anyway, yeah, I hope that answers your question. Over to you, KG70DB. Okay, yeah, you got a natural flair for this. Like I see you doing it down the road again. And yeah, you just got a good voice for it and a way of talking. So I think you're just a natural net controller. So you definitely have my vote to continue on with this. So I hope we do it again because you did quite well, AB6MB. It helps that I also listen and participate in the net. So I know the call signs too. So if I were on some net where it was a bunch of people I didn't know, I'd probably crash and burn. But yeah, it was fun. I'll do it when I can. I can't really do it during the week. Well, during the day I'm working. I'm also salaried. So there might be a conflict if I'm on work hours for the new net. And then at night a lot of times I'm kind of winding down. And sometimes I'll check in the evening nets and I'm barely coherent because I'm falling asleep. Not because of the content of the net but just because it's been a long day. But yeah, I'll be happy to be part of the lineup of people who can jump in from time to time. So over to you. Yeah, I get what you're saying. I guess Saturday night and Sunday night sounds like a good fit for you because you're not working, you're not burned out. Got a chance to sleep in and rest up and get on there. I just enjoyed listening to you tonight. I said, man, he hasn't done this before. He must have. He must have. You did a good job. So, okay, Dean, I won't hold you. But thank you very much for doing it. It was appreciated. AB6MB. This is repeater station Kilo Kilo 7. Thanks a lot, Jeff. I appreciate that. The only other thing I'll say is it does make me now want to go out and get a headset and like a foot pedal so I can be writing things down or typing things. And I know Jack does that. I think Cammy does it too. I'm getting help from Jack but if I were doing this on my own, I'd be like, right now I just have hand mics. So anyway, thanks. I hope you're doing well and stay cool down there. I'm so glad I'm up here in Seattle where it's nice and cool. I know down in California, at least Northern California is not as bad, but down in Southern California and Arizona, it's a little too hot for my taste. So anyway, thanks again. AB6MB. This is KC7 ODB and I'll be monitoring.
