You can use the showers, not the thunder, because hopefully the showers, if they go far enough north, will help with the fires, but of course we know what lightning can do. Not much on the schedule today, actually, in about three quarters of an hour, Rosie's got an appointment for a massage, and I'm right behind her, so that's going to finish off the rest of the morning. Tomorrow's a different story, we're going to be going down onto Memorial Boulevard here in Winnipeg to the Peacekeepers Memorial that's there, because today is National Peacekeepers Day in Canada, something a lot of people aren't aware of, and the reason August 9th was chosen is August 9th, 1974, 51 years ago today, nine Canadian passengers and crew were killed with a Syrian ground air missile shot down a Canadian Forces Buffalo aircraft flying UN colors on a routine flight from Ismaili, Egypt to Damascus as part of the United Nations peacekeeping. So even in peacekeeping it can be dangerous, that was the largest single incident, loss of life for Canadians in a peacekeeping mission, notice I said a peacekeeping mission, and that is why the day August 9th was chosen, and I do believe Canada recognized it initially, I want to say 2008, but don't quote me on that. Well good morning Art and all the other hamsters out there on the worldwide friendship net, this is Roy, KD7WA here in Florence, Oregon, about 60 degrees, going to get up to around 70 somewhere in there, beautiful sunny, been pretty nice, 3 days at the coast and no rain, very unusual. Glad I'm over here though, it's going to be 100 degrees I think tomorrow in Salem, so I'll enjoy the 60 degrees that's for sure. Yeah the orvery group, we all went down to Moe's on the waterfront, I had some great fish and chips, and I think Sue had shrimp on a skewer and we had a good time and then came back and sat around the campfire and told lies last night. So yeah that's what's going on in Florence, tomorrow we'll be heading up the road about 90 miles to Nescone for 2 weeks. So that's it here from Florence, Oregon, this is KD7WA back to net control.
