It might be more likely to work with the radio, but the user interface is usually worse than chirp. I find myself going to chirp for most of my programming. That being said, I do have two Kenwood mobile radio models, not handheld, and the software that comes with them is really, really good and very usable except importing and exporting information like channels is terrible.
