transformers and coils. Now these were specific purpose deflection yoke coils for those of you who are old enough to remember what a cathode ray tube is. There was an electron beam that got boiled off of a heating element and there was a positive plate with about a hard volt DC on it to draw the electrons toward the screen and there's like a grid and then we would have to use these coils of wire around the yoke of the tube to deflect that electron beam to a different point to the tube. So this is how we used to do things back in it in the ancient times you know before LCD and other technologies.
