In modern countries, scurvy is very rare. Rare fruit and vegetables are eaten on a regular basis. In the 15th and mid-19th centuries, it's common for sailors along distant trips. Europeans avoid the fruit that the indigenous people were consuming. That prevents the species. These fruits consist of mukkak, which is just a whale blubber and skin that's full of vitamin C and vitamin D.
