In the years ago, let's just preface it by same, probably somewhere around 50 years ago, I would learn to sail on a, I think, with 12-foot laser. And laser is a highly over-sailed, under-keeled boat that you have to play the wind just right. They scoot along really well. But if you don't read the wind right, you are bringing her back upright after the winter over. So, yes, I've always been one of those sailors that are always aware of the wind, but as careful as you can be. They do sneak up on you once in a while, but, yeah, you're right. If you have an oversize out, like a jib or something out front, especially if you're single-handed sailing, that can be quite the handful. Or you have the people aboard that don't.
