I've had my sailboats rigged up with lifting off of the boom and then another one I it was more suitable to lift from the mast from the main and yeah a nice pulley system can lift up many of those heavy objects into the boat or at least lift them up high enough to swing them on board but yeah you might look at maybe using some of your rigging to assist you with that a good cargo net is a good thing to have as well.
