So, they were using estimates from a previous animal to determine the exact size of this other one that they found. So, we'll find out how one of these animals can get. Scientists scan the growth bands. That form on the vertebrate. The same weight of trees have rings. Trees have their annual rings. Same thing with these as the sharks. So, they use the CT to help count these growth rings on its vertebra and it really determined its age and how much it weighed.
