Well it's another beautiful day here in the great Northwest, yeah, starting out a little cloudy, maybe even a little cool, but it's kinda nice having a day like that once in a while and with the mix of the warmer days we've been having. So I think today will be kind of a carbon copy of yesterday's, so I'm supposed to come out. I'm getting ready for a trip this time tomorrow, I'll be half on my way to Alexandria, Virginia, gonna visit some friends there for a couple of days, got some work to do up in the Boston area, so I'm running a car, gonna take a trip for about a week, doing some driving, and back on the 14th. Got some things to do to get ready. I remember three, four years ago they had some kind of big get together down at, I thought it was like Seattle King County Emergency Communication Center. Jack, you might even remember this, or someone will, because there was a lot of hams there. Anyway, it was an emergency services kind of introduction and meeting, and looked like a pretty well-secured facility down there, chain link fencing all around the building down there, it was kind of in Seattle area, dried down, kind of new downtown. Can't find it in the Google though now. But they were taking some questions, and I asked if they were prepared for the zombie apocalypse, and the presenter said no. I don't think I'm prepared either, but that's one of my goals, getting prepared for it. Any kind of apocalypse, zombie or otherwise. But I do wanna comment, but you will be back in time for the PSARA Antique Radio and Vintage Electronics Swap meet, and I think you went to that last year, maybe the previous year up at Shoreline Community College. Is that one of the shows you went to? I don't think I did go to that. Now that I live in Shoreline, I'm gonna start participating in more Shoreline events, finding out it's a pretty nice place here. But I will go this year, because I'm interested in that kind of stuff. Had an antique radio once, and someone gave me, but it was basically disintegrating the, tuning capacitor, the, it was, had corrosion, and the plates were falling off, and yeah, you know. So, it's been a long time since I had a working radio. Back when I was in high school, my dad took me down to St. Vincent de Paul in Seattle, and we bought this big, shortwave radio, all-band everything, everything, with big, kinda loopy antenna thing, and a little matchy guy for tuning. That was pretty cool. That was kind of my real introduction to heavy duty radio. KI-7 ZEI. Yeah, those worldwide receivers were pretty massive units, too. Well, I've got, talk about massive units, I've got a number of Collins pieces that I'm gonna be taking to that show, I hope, and I've got a great Kenwood Transceiver from back in the day, and that thing is like a tank, too. So, I've got a couple of pieces I'll be taking up there and seeing what we can do with them. All right, we'll have a safe trip to Alexandria. We'll talk to you along the way. I know you'll probably check in many times, and we hope you do there, too, and safe travels to you. All right, so real quickly, here are a couple of events. 10, 16 a.m. Next weekend, we are busy, busy, busy on the night. That's Saturday, the Radio Club at Tacoma does their open house, 10 a.m. to two, and then, of course, later that night, we have got the PS, or not the PSRG, but the Simplex net, there we go, 8 p.m., 146560 every Saturday, but in the middle of the day, 1.30 p.m. On Zoom, we have the next PSRG board meeting, 1.30 p.m. That's August 9th, Saturday, so come on by and join the fun there. Now, on Sunday, though, August 10, PSRG season seven, episode five, Rain or Shine net, it's a new net and ice cream social at Green Lake, so get on the website, psrg.org for all the details there. I was on Newcastle and such, probably don't like it, but it's still great to see there. I'll go down and just stay inside, do my dosage duties. That's the plan for the day. And sure enough, I heard they listen to Airbus and Sol 1, and can make out what they're saying, never can make out what Alice is saying. Well, we were driving down Highway 9 yesterday, and we passed an FJ going the other way. That guy rolled his window down, was waving frantically out the window, and even beeped at me, and I was like, whoa. Because my rig's all built up now, and his looked really stuck. And that kind of made my week, because I'm usually the one waving out the window frantically, and it was the other way around. So I thought that was pretty cool, and I wanted to share that with you.
