On the AC stuff, I can understand that because basically they time it. When you have a fine wave, where your alternate between positive and negative, basically when it goes to zero, that's when they would inject the signal, at least on the X10 stuff that I've seen. And then you have some redundancy there so that it doesn't lose the information. But on DC, yeah, because then now you're subject to devices that have an AC.
