context of the Jeep. What it does is they call it a keep-alive battery. So basically if your air conditioning is running it keeps that going. It keeps the vitals of the car operational while the engine is shut off. During normal driving that battery the accessory battery or keep-alive is switched in out of parallel with the main battery to keep it charged. So there's so many systems that keep-alive system monitors. For instance if your steering wheel is turned too far if you are stopped your steering wheel is turned too far to the left or right. It disables the start stop function. In other words the engine doesn't shut off because it's assuming that you need to move. Your wheels are turned you are stopped we're not going to shut the engine down you need to make that turn.
