I believe as long as it works, that's all that's important. And even though it may seem to be a pretender, it's still, what's more important is that it works. Got any PODA activations planned in the near future? You know, I've been out to a couple of the local parks, but I haven't done any that I would activate. I'm not sure if that's really a great interest or not. Generally I like to hunt some distant stations when I'm out in the dark, and we'll see what I can get out to. You know, the first time I set this thing up with the Spider Bean pole out in the backyard, the 40-foot pole on an inverted, off-center fed inverted B. My first two contacts were France and Japan, and you know, it's 100 watts. But not so much any EX since then, but I've been trying two quick setups, so that one takes quite a while with the guy ropes and getting that thing up and getting it to stay up. I got some clamps, but those seem kind of cumbersome. So you get it nice and tight, it stays up in the air, and then you know, getting the stakes all in, and it takes what, six stakes, plus the three little stakes that hold the base down and that sort of thing. So it's just too complicated, too time consuming, and the little tripod pops up in a few seconds, and up at the standard short length at five feet. The vertical seems to do okay, but I think with these raised radials or counterpoises that might improve it a lot. The test graveyard goes way up as you get that thing in the air with ground radials so that doesn't work, they decouple. And even when they're connected directly to the base of the antenna, they don't really work as ground radials anymore. They just have a rod sticking up in the air up too high. But anyway, I'll see what I can do and experiment a little bit in the backyard maybe this weekend.
