I've never heard anyone do it live, except for the band Pantera used to always tune to an in-between tuning, meaning everything sounded just a little off, a little flat. And I'm not sure why they did it, maybe just to stand out a bit. But that Pantera is the only band I can think of that kind of went out of their way to not use standard tuning.
