I actually got married and the wife is Australian so we kicked around which country we wanted to settle in. The job market was a lot better over here versus the US at the time for my skill set in technology. The immigration process was pretty straight forward here. We have been here since 2018 and became a citizen over here just a couple of years ago. It has been up on 30 and has not seen snow since 2018. I still do not miss it.
