a land breeze, lake breeze, a sea breeze, whatever the case is, there's a breeze boundary and where that boundary is interacting with two different bodies of air, one from the land, one from the water, or even an inter-ocean. There's a difference in air mass. Where these air masses collide, you'll have a little bit of wind shear and that'll help spin it and you'll get these water spouts. And on radar, the parent cloud may or may not show up, it just depends on the environment and how intense the tower in cumulus is. Let me drop it.
