on having the kidney transplant there and it all going well. Yeah, I guess you don't really realize how good your health is or how you're about your health until you go through something like that and then realize all the, I guess I appreciate good health there. So anyway, congratulations to you and I hope you continue to move in that direction. Yes, and then the day after that it's Aloha Friday. So I get in there and hammer on some files as fast as I can go. And I know I have a few things that I've gotta get done and after that I think it's out in the heat in the garage and finishing up on a little project. Ham radio wise, I'm trying to build my 17 foot whip that I have that I have a nice ground mount for it but it's kind of a headache getting that all drilled in and set up. I have a tripod that goes up in three seconds and at low level I'm going to get some fiberglass stakes, long stakes that I can connect a radio to and I've got eight radios but I'm going to adapt four of them so that they're adjustable with the connectors, different lengths, and up to 40 meters and I can stretch that out on some little stakes, four feet or three feet off the ground probably at the ends and five feet up on the tripod. And that's supposed to work very well. I've seen some good reports on it and good videos. So that'll be the ham project and doing maybe a little testing over the weekend out in the backyard, see how it really works. Very good, well it's not like a fun project there. So you do have like a nano in there or something for doing them, for testing out the engine and design. Well I have one of those and I used that. Now it's getting relegated to the VHF and UHF. I bought a Rig Expert A-55 so that'll cover the ham bands and it's just so nice connecting up and hitting that all bands button and seeing what a multi-band antenna is doing and find out where the shortcomings are. But yeah, the whip by itself, even with a counterpoise at 20, for 20 meters, once you get it up five feet off the ground it starts getting some high SWRs and you get that thing at 15 feet and it's somewhere around 10 to one I think and not good at all. But I think at five feet it's the PODA performer is the one that everybody seems to be talking about. And although I haven't done a PODA yet, I've done a few parks and now that I got my transmitter back on for the FT891 had to reset everything. It just was not transmitting despite the fact that it created a tenth of a watt of RF so it showed up on the meter. It wasn't actually doing anything or not modulating and power output looked good but it wasn't. There wasn't any. So they got that fixed and doing pretty well. I used two 17 foot whips as a horizontal dipole up about 15 feet and that thing's pretty amazing too. So more quick setups instead of all the wires and stakes.
