I know you said that's what your dad did but maybe I missed or understood. It sounded like he was licensed even once before. So welcome to the hobby and what to expect when you go to field day. Well, you guys will more than likely be using an extra class call. So what we do for field day is pick the person with the extra class call so we can go anywhere we want on a radio. So that's how it works and if there's a club call that they'll be using more than likely it's an extra class call. So there won't be no place.
