Sorry I'm I'm slow back to the microphone I was trying to find my J38. Oh my goodness, yes. And you know I know now as an adult that that tube smell wasn't the smell of hot tubes. I say it was the smell of the dust, dusty, hot, dusty tubes because it'd be the dust to be burning off of the surf to the tube. And yeah my first transmitter was a Heathkit AT-1 which my uncle Phil had given to me when I got my first novice license in 1970. And my first radio receiver was my friend Kurtz S38, the original 6 tube S38, with had a real BFO, barely adequate. In fact I jokingly, my cure has had to profile. I jokingly refer to it as a classic low performance HF receiver.
