You talked about the smell of the tubes warming up on the old tube radio in the early days and I experienced the same thing. My dad started me out with a old Collins 75A1 tube type receiver, boat anchor receiver and yeah, those tubes would heat everything up around them inside of the cabinet. The transformers would get hot and the tubes would also make a tiny little sound as the elements in the tube were moving. They'd tap on the glass just a little bit, make a little glass sound. Let me let this reset. But I remember the smell and the sound.
