It sounds like you're getting, something is happening when you're keying up with your washing machine. I had an issue one time where I was keying up with my handheld on two meters and it was causing my oscillating heater to kind of freak out and start buzzing at me. So yeah, a little bit of RF interference sounds like going on there with some electronics. Maybe some ferrite cores or some shielding can help with that.
