There's incidental evidence that yes, prairie dogs do communicate with each other when things aren't happening. There's lots of incidental evidence about that, but researchers have yet to actually map anything out confirming this. So this is a bit of a gray zone. So right now, as far as the research is concerned, the complex language that humans use when we're discussing interpersonal things, whatever the case is, that appears to be absent with the prairie dogs. That doesn't mean it may not be.
