One would wear blue, one would wear yellow, one would wear green. And they looked at the acoustic structure of the prairie dog's calls as these individuals at different points in time walk through the colony and they used this information to specifically qualify the colors based on the the Chirp and the harmonics within the Chirp that they were hearing.
